1st Milwaukee reading & adventures & poem sightings

Dear friendlies,

I’m grateful for finding myself settling into a new community, new school, new city, new life!  This month here has been full of adventure, comparison, discovery and challenge & I’m excited to be reading for the first time in my new adopted city of Milwaukee along with other members of the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee creative writing community here:

Thursday, September 23, 7pm
UWM Creative Writing Graduate Program Student/Faculty Reading
w/Christine Stroik & George Clark
Paddy’s Pub, 2339 North Murray Avenue, Milwaukee, WI
Free and Open to the Public but must be 21 years old

***

Also,  I’m happy to report (very belatedly) that The Heart’s Traffic won the 2010 Golden Crown Literary Society Award for Poetry and an Honorable Mention from the Eric Hoffer Award.

New poems/writings are up or out here:

** “Letters To” Ifesto published in Esque, a new online journal edited by the fabulous editors Amy King & Ana Bozicevic, alongside Oetry by poets like Tamiko Beyer, Kate Durbin, Evie Shockley, Ken Chen & Brandon Shimoda.

** new poems from my Shiny City series in John Hoppenthaler’s Poetry Congeries series in Connotation Press

** & a beautiful issue of Eleven Eleven #9 in the mail with more Shiny City poems & the poems of other lovelies Natasha Marin & more!

Thanks for reading/listening & see you on the road!
